I recommend looking at a program calledLSIgraph free SEO tool.

You just need to put your main keyword into the tool...

Step 3: Monitor Your Technical SEO


For 90% of websites, technical SEO is not an issue.

While technical SEO issues are rare, they can really hurt your website's SEO.


So they deserve attention.


Specifically, there are three things to focus on:


The first thing I recommend is to double check that your website is 100% mobile optimized.

I also recommend looking at your website loading speed.

It's free and gives you a bunch of ways to get up to speed.

Next, head to the search console.

Then go to Index → ​​Coverage in the sidebar.

If Google is having trouble indexing your site, they will notify you here.

These are not important. But they are worth fixing.


But if you see a lot of red "errors", I suggest you look into it immediately.

Finally, if your website runs on WordPress, I recommend the Yoast SEO plugin.

Let me explain how this works with a real life example.


A few years ago, I wanted to rank for the keyword "conversion rate optimization."


So we spent weeks researching this huge list of CRO (Conversion Rate Optimization) techniques.


At first, the content was well done. It gets quite a bit of search engine traffic every month.

But over time, Google found that people searching for "conversion rate optimization" didn't want a huge list of techniques.


And, as you can see from this Google Analytics screenshot, organic traffic to that page is slowly dropping.

So, after a while, I decided to figure out what exactly the search intent for "conversion rate optimization" was.


First, I thought about what the person who typed that phrase on Google was looking for.


I realize what they might want include:


  • Practical Definition of CRO
  • Description of how CRO works
  • Examples of CROs in effect
  • Getting Started Tips

Second, I looked at what the first page was already ra nking for.


I quickly noticed that almost every result on the first page contained everything that my content was missing.


So I completely revamped my content from scratch.


Now my page matches search intent and it now has 214% more organic traffic than before.


The key point? If you want to improve your Google rankings, your page needs to be a good fit for what someone is searching for.


When you do this, Google will want to show your site to more people. That's why giving Google what it wants is the foundation of any good SEO strategy .


Step 5: Reduce Bounce Rate


Our next step is to reduce your site's bounce rate.


Why is this important?


Well, Google doesn't like seeing people go to a site...and then quickly bounce back to the search results.


It's a clear sign that Google is making people unhappy. If the user is not satisfied, you can wave goodbye to the ranking.


Needless to say, peering your content with search intent is a great way to reduce your bounce rate.


After all, if you really give searchers what they want. Why did they quit?


Besides search intent, there are some simple things you can do to reduce your website’s bounce rate.


First, I recommend you check out the " Above the Collapse " section of your website.


This is the first thing people see when they come to your website.


In my experience, people decide to quit or not quit mostly because of what they see here.


The first thing you can do to improve above the collapsed area is to push your content to the top. This way, Google searchers can easily find what they are looking for.


For example, you can see my content at the top of the page.


You also need to structure your pages so people can easily find what they're looking for.


For example, you may have noticed a small table of contents added to the top of the page.


This way, people can jump right to the step that interests them the most.


Finally, add visuals, videos, diagrams, screenshots, selfies...or any kind of visual content to your page.


This makes your content more engaging and easier to understand. Both can drastically reduce your bounce rate.

This helps keep my bounce rate low.


Step 6: Find More Keywords


At this point, you should start seeing your website ranking higher in Google.


Now is the time to get more traffic to your website.


The easiest way?


Optimize your pages around a few different keywords.


This is the exact process.


First, head to the Search Results Performance report in the Google Search Console.


Next, browse the queries you rank for.


You'll probably recognize most of them because you've optimized your pages around these exact keywords.


But occasionally you'll come across a keyword that you haven't optimized for .


If you accidentally rank for this term, imagine how easy it would be to rank if you actually tried to rank for that term.


For example, I got a little traffic from people searching for "youtube video description example".


But I don't have a page optimized around this exact keyword.


Instead, people searching for that keyword are finding this page from my website.


This page includes examples of video descriptions.


But it's not really optimized around the word.


So I want to go back to that page and add a couple of exact phrases. Extend this example a bit.


I could also create a whole new page around that keyword.


Either way will work.


Repeat this process several times.


Step 7: Publish high-quality content


You may have heard that to rank on Google "you need to publish high-quality content".


While this is true, taking action is also difficult.


(After all, what does "high-quality content" actually mean?)


So yes, you do want to post awesome stuff on your website.


But it has to be the type of high-quality content that people share on social media...and provide links.


This is because, as you probably already know, Google's algorithm is primarily based on backlinks .


The more backlinks to your website , the higher your ranking.


What is the best way to build website backlinks ?


Post content that people will actually link to.


(Also called "link bait.")


Here are some ways to increase the odds of people linking to your content.

I talked about the longer stuff in step 1.


Well, it turns out that longer content is also great for getting links.


While there is no “perfect” word count for blog posts, content above 3,000 words tends to work best for link building .

  6.  Visual content is great for getting links.


 For example, we blogged about this infographic a while back.

Yes, we had to do a lot of email publicity to get the message across.


But when we get the infographic in front of the right people, they're happy to embed it on their blog.


Step 8: Build Backlinks to Your Website

Posting amazing content is great.

 But in order for your content to get links , people need to actually see it.

 You can’t just take a “post and pray” approach to content marketing and hope people link to you.


 That's because your content is just a drop in an ocean of blog posts, videos, Instagram stories, and Facebook posts.

 I recommend focusing on the following 3 techniques:


 Get links through dead links


 This is also known as "broken link building".


 To use this strategy, first install the CheckMyLinks Chrome extension.


When you find the page, email the person running the page (usually the content author or webmaster) a personalized version of this email script:

 I found a broken link on your page: [title] .


 This is a link to [website] . It gave me a 404 error.


 Also, I recently published a post on [topic] . This can be a good replacement for dead links.

 Guest posting is a very controversial topic in the SEO world.


And for good reason.


Guest posts are definitely spam.


In fact, Google specifically states that large campaigns that use "keyword-rich" anchor text links are prohibited.



So as long as you don't: a) get guests to post your #1 link building strategy, b) use keyword-rich anchor text in your backlinks, you're set.


 


Also, my links back to my site do not contain any keywords.

 Resource pages are great for link building.


 This is because resource pages are pages that someone creates to link to the best content on a given topic.

So if you have a great resource on SEO, I might consider adding it to this page.


 Step 9: Track and Monitor Your Results

 This is awesome.

Because they rank for more keywords, they may get more Google traffic than you.


In short: Tracking your Google rankings has its place. But the gold standard for SEO tracking is organic traffic.


Google Search Console "Browse" and "Click"


This is a great addition to the Google Analytics organic traffic report we just talked about.


This report in the search console basically shows you how many people have seen your site. How many people clicked on your website.


As you might expect, the more people who see and click on your website from Google, the better.


 Leads vs Sales Opportunities


 In other words: Does the influx of traffic really increase profits?


 This is a question that people ignore. But if you want to get a huge ROI from SEO, you need to know if all those new visitors are turning into customers.


 There are many ways to track this. But my favorite is the Goals feature in Google Analytics.


 In fact, that's what we use here to see which pages are generating the most email subscribers for us.

It's no secret that Google uses CTR in its algorithm.


In fact, several studies have found a correlation between "expected CTR" and Google rankings.

For example, I currently rank very low on the first page for the term "Google Search Console".



Considering how many people search for this keyword every month, even boosting one position would make a huge difference for me.


So, to increase the odds of this page ranking, I add an internal link to that page whenever I mention Google Search Console.



Repeat this method for all high-priority pages.
